On September 8th, 2025, the GlaS-A-Fuels project convened its Month 18 General Assembly (GA) in Heraklion, Crete. The GA was held as a physical presence meeting, at the venue of the NanoBio 2025 Conference, chaired by Dr. Emmanuel Stratakis, Research Director at the Institute of Electronic Structure & Laser (IESL) – Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (FORTH), and Prof. Emmanuel Kymakis, Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering / Director of Nano@HMU, Institute of Emerging Technologies at the Hellenic Mediterranean University.

The NanoBio 2025 Conference, which brings together scientists and engineers from both academia and industry, provided an inspiring environment for the assembly. With its focus on the rapidly growing and interconnected fields of nanotechnology and bionanoscience, the conference emphasized the interdisciplinary and innovative nature of the GlaS-A-Fuels project.

During the GA, consortium partners presented updates on the different work packages, detailing recent progress, achievements, and next steps. The meeting also celebrated the project’s inclusion in the European Commission’s Innovation Radar, an important acknowledgment of its innovative potential. Discussions included feedback from the project’s recent review meeting, where the Project Officer and independent reviewers provided positive and constructive guidance to ensure the project remains on track to achieve its goals.

The assembly concluded with a social dinner in Heraklion’s city center, providing an opportunity for informal exchanges and strengthening collaboration among partners. The Month 18 GA highlighted the consortium’s continued commitment to advancing sustainable fuel technologies while leveraging the synergies of an interdisciplinary scientific community.
